I definitely have some advice for solo female travellers who are thinking about visiting Egypt. Traveling alone to Egypt can be so rewarding! Here is your guide to the thrills and challenges of solo female travel to Egypt.

Dress appropriately. Covering up not only helps you to blend in better – but it also conveys your respect for Egyptian culture.

Plan your day and choose your public transport options accordingly. The best choices in my opinion are using Uber in Egypt or the metro. If you hire a taxi, always sit in the back seat and arrange your ride through a hotel desk when possible or professional company

What is forbidden in Egypt?

The majority-Islamic nature of Egypt is reflected in local laws. Always respect local laws, customs, traditions, and religions, and be mindful of your behavior to avoid offending people of other cultures or faiths.

More importantly, it is against the law to take pictures of Egyptian military or police personnel, structures, or vehicles. Avoid going to mosques when people are praying.

What should you not do in Egypt?
