1/Pyramids of Giza

 

One of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Pyramids of Giza served as the royal necropolis for the Old Kingdom and was built on one of the rockiest plateaus on the banks of the Nile in Northern Egypt. The pyramid structure represents the development of tomb design and was created to last forever for an additional life.

Auguste Mariette, a French Egyptologist, built the Egyptian Museum in the 19th century to prevent the looting of archaeological sites and to organise the exhibition of the gathered items. These antiquities were initially kept at the Azbakian Garden in Cairo, where they were later moved to a museum that was later moved to Ismail Pasha's Giza palace extension. The current museum was constructed in 1900 by the French architect Marcel Dourgnon in the neoclassical style.

 

4/City of Memphis     

The name Memphis was first given by the Ancient Egyptians as Min-Nefer, and afterwards by the Greeks as Memphis. It is now a neighborhood village called Mit Rahina.

Memphis was the first capital city built following the union of Upper and Lower Egypt, and it was established in the first dynasty (3100 B.C.) by King Narmar. During the whole Old Kingdom, it remained the nation's capital.

Memphis was a centre for the worship of Ptah, god of creation and artworks, The creator god Ptah, his consort Sekhmet, and their son Nefertem, were the main focus of worship in the city which formed Memphis triad.

7/Aswan city

 

Superb Aswan is a friendly town, Aswan is Egypt’s southernmost city, 680km (425 miles) south of Cairo, 220Km (137 miles) to the south of Luxor. Aswan takes its name from the ancient Egyptian word “Swan”, meaning “the market”. This is because it was located on the main trade route between Egypt and the southern lands.

Dazzling Aswan is the third most popular place to visit in Egypt, behind Cairo and Luxor, it has a large population of Nubian people, mostly resettled from their homeland in the area flooded by Lake Nasser. Aswan is the home of many granite quarries from which most of the Obelisks seen in Luxor, were sourced used for so many sculptures and obelisks.

Luxor is located about 670 km. (416 miles) to the south of Cairo, 220km (137 miles) to the north of Aswan, and 280 kms (174 miles) to the west of Hurghada.

 

 

9/ Abu Simbel Temple

Was devoted to Ptah, Harmakis, and Amon Ra, the gods of ancient Egypt. Four statues that belonged to the Pharaoh make up the façade. Four enormous seated statues of Ramses are depicted on the massive facade of the Ramses II temple. The statues are each 67 feet high, and the facade is 119 feet broad and 100 feet high. The region was once on the southern edge of pharaonic Egypt, facing Nubia. Beautiful specimens of ancient Egyptian art can be found in the four enormous statues of Ramses that stand in front of the main temple. The largest surviving sculptures from the pharaonic era are the four figures that stand watch at the entrance of the greater of these temples. then set sail in the direction of Kasr Ibrim, Amada, and Bennut Tomb.
